From Ruins to Paradise! 🏡✨ This mother of three transformed a run-down house into a dream home, and the results are breathtaking! 😍 You won’t believe the ‘before and after’ photos!
This small and almost ruined house leaked every time it rained. However, when I saw it, I fell in love at first sight. It was the forgotten farm I had always dreamed of. Thus begins the story of Jenny, our heroine of the day.
At first glance, it may seem like a risky investment. However, at the moment, Jenny’s house is a real paradise for those who want to live outside the city. This manor, built in 1870 near Stockholm, has now become a cozy home for Jenny and her three children. It has a spacious interior and a wonderful garden with fruit trees.

“I was fascinated by this farm, but there were problems. It had been abandoned for seven years, and many of the structures needed repair. There were also issues with electricity and running water. And how do you fit a whole family into 43 m²?” Jenny recalls with a smile.
However, her optimism prevailed. There was also a 70 m² barn and a second house of 25 m² that also required attention.

In July 2020, Jenny began the renovation. The house was updated inside and out: a new kitchen, a bathroom on the second floor. The goal was to preserve the authenticity and spirit of the past. Jenny combined existing interior elements with what she found over the years of her search.

The living room deserves special attention with its deep green wallpaper. This shade, combined with antique furniture and vintage items, allowed Jenny to combine old style with modern elements.

In the kitchen, the dominant color is natural, earthy tones, which fit perfectly into the overall decor and the main style of the house. Despite the fact that the kitchen set is equipped with all the delights of a modern kitchen, it leaves an impression of vintage.

Some elements of the old interior have been preserved: for example, a built-in cabinet, which is spacious for various kitchen utensils. In addition, the kitchen has an old iron stove and oven, which provide warmth, especially pleasant in the cold months. Although the brick wall was exposed, Jenny tried hard to preserve the spirit of the old days.

The aforementioned barn deserves special attention: previously it was filled with old furniture and various things from the previous owner, but now it has turned into an ideal place for holidays.

“Taking care of such an old house is a whole life epic,” says Jenny. “My skills and experience grew every day. I was even able to make a balcony with my own hands, learned how to insulate the house and lay floors. It’s really something! I have something to be proud of, thinking about the house I created for my family. It’s my little kingdom.”

All of these feelings of Jenny’s are reflected in her words about her home. What is your verdict on her cozy corner?
