The Princess of Greece and Denmark, along with her partner, lawyer Matthew Kumar from Los Angeles, has finally tied the knot. This wasn’t on the first or even the second attempt; the princess waited a full four years for her new status.

The wedding ceremony took place at the Cathedral in Athens. The bride wore a custom-made off-the-shoulder wedding dress by Greek designer Celia Kritharioti. Her bridal look was completed with the Khedive of Egypt tiara from Cartier, traditionally worn by women in Theodora’s family on special occasions.

Matthew chose a dark tailcoat for the wedding, which beautifully complemented his bride’s radiant dress. In the photos, the couple looks incredibly happy. And why not? They managed to get married only on their third try. Their first wedding was scheduled for the Greek island of Spetses in 2020 but had to be postponed due to the COVID pandemic. The second attempt was delayed following the passing of Theodora’s father, King Constantine II of Greece, in 2023. On the wedding day, Theodora was walked down the aisle by her older brother, Crown Prince Paul.

As the daughter of the late Greek king and his wife, Queen Anne-Marie, Theodora, who was also a goddaughter of the late Queen Elizabeth II, has family ties to many glamorous European royals. Therefore, the wedding was attended by numerous distinguished guests, including Queen Sofia of Spain and Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece.
