In the picture, Alec is standing next to Hilaria and Carmen, who are both wearing black turtlenecks. In a heartfelt statement on her own blog, the 40-year-old mother showed her appreciation and love for her kid.
Even though the image was meant to celebrate Carmen’s birthday, internet users swiftly expressed their disapproval of it. Carmen’s makeup was criticized for being inappropriate, with others saying it was too sophisticated for an 11-year-old. The picture was inundated with comments like “Please don’t continue to sexualize your child” and “She looks way too grown-up for 11.”
Alec and Hilaria made the decision to stay silent in the face of the criticism. They didn’t bring their seven kids with them to the US Open in New York City, though, since the controversy appeared to lower their spirits. The pair didn’t seem too excited to be watching the game.
