Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones’ Son Makes Candid Confession About Childhood

The son of the celebrity couple spoke about his terrible school memories in a recent television appearance.

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones have two children: 20-year-old daughter Carys and 24-year-old son Dylan. The children grew up in Westchester County, not far from Sandy Hook Elementary School, where a mass tragedy occurred on December 14, 2012, when a gunman burst into the school with a gun.

Dylan appeared on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” this week to talk generational differences, politics, and how his school was put on lockdown during a shooting 12 years ago. The shooting was the horrific events of 2012, when a 20-year-old gunman shot and killed 26 people at an elementary school, 20 of whom were children ages 6 and 7.

“The last 20 years have been foundational for this country,” said the young man, who now hosts his own political podcast. “I remember Sandy Hook, I went to school in Westchester County, just 20 minutes from this school, Connecticut, and I remember we were in quarantine that day, and we’ve had drills many times a year since then.

Dylan and his sister, Carys, grew up in Irvington, Westchester County, with their parents, who moved there from nearby Bedford. Dylan, who was born in 2000, said Gen Zers’ lives have been “defined by a lot of chaos,” but they’ve also experienced “transformative moments.”

Dylan’s weekly political podcast on Sirius XM is currently airing, focusing largely on the November 2024 U.S. presidential election. Michael Douglas’ son has been working in politics since graduating from Brown University.
