A week ago, Nicole Kidman announced a family tragedy: her mother passed away at the age of 84. The actress learned of the news during the height of the Venice Film Festival, from where she flew home to Australia.
The event also affected Nicole Kidman’s and Tom Cruise’s adopted children—31-year-old Bella and 29-year-old Connor. For many years, the daughter and son had refused to communicate with their famous mother due to the Scientology beliefs they inherited from their father. However, the tragedy touched them, and they sent her a message with heartfelt condolences and kind words of sympathy. An insider revealed to the Daily Mail how the star of “Big Little Lies” reacted to this.
“The most touching thing for Nicole was receiving a joint message from Bella and Connor, whom she hadn’t heard from in a long time. It’s a bit sad that it took such a tragic moment to bring the children back into her life, but she knows her mother would have been happy if, after her passing, the grandchildren who live separately returned to the family,” the source shared.
It was noted that Kidman prefers to remain silent about her relationship with her adopted children; however, according to the insider, the actress is planning to take a break from her career to focus on her family, particularly on reconnecting with Bella and Connor.
