This was exactly the case with Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s “brilliant” plan to host a family-style outing for their children. Recently, the divorcing Affleck and Lopez decided to treat their children from previous marriages, who had become friends during their brief time together as a couple. Ben and Jennifer planned a group lunch at the Polo Lounge, a restaurant located in the Beverly Hills Hotel, and brought four out of their five children. Affleck arrived with his daughter Seraphina and son Samuel from his marriage to Jennifer Garner, while Lopez brought her twins, Emme and Max, from her marriage to Marc Anthony.
Initially, Ben and J.Lo tried to act as friendly as possible, but their good intentions didn’t last long. Despite Lopez wearing both her engagement and wedding rings for the occasion—symbols of her marriage that had not been seen in a while—she and Ben ended up having a heated argument in front of the children. Paparazzi captured the moment as Ben and Jennifer were seen arguing intensely, gesticulating wildly. Later, when they got into the car, Lopez was seen crying, while Affleck sat next to her with an icy expression. It was clear that the children, who witnessed the whole ordeal, were deeply upset.
The exact cause of the argument remains unclear. However, Ben and Jennifer have assets to divide, and experts predict that they will likely face further conflicts. When Lopez and Affleck married in the summer of 2022, they did not sign a prenuptial agreement. This means they now face a complex division of assets earned during their marriage. Under California law, all money and property acquired during their marriage must be split equally. This means Lopez will need to part with half of her earnings, while Affleck will have to give up half of the shares in his successful production company.
