Jessica Leonard, a resident of Chicago, holds the record for weight.
By the age of 7, she had reached a weight of 222 kg, making it difficult for her to move without assistance, which she relied on from her mother.
This situation arose from the stereotypical American scenario where an overly doting mother indulges every whim of her daughter, resulting in unhealthy eating habits.

Throughout the day, Jessica consumed around 10,000 calories, well above the recommended 1800 calories for a child of her age, primarily consisting of fast food such as pizza, hamburgers, soda, French fries, and other high-calorie items.
It’s worth noting that Jessica’s mother also struggled with obesity, although not to the same extent.

By the age of 4, Jessica had surpassed 100 kilograms, yet her mother did not enforce stricter dietary control.
With the help of regular Americans and medical professionals, Jessica managed to shed 140 kilograms over a year and a half through rigorous efforts, dietary adjustments, and medical intervention.

As a result, Jessica, once recognized as the world’s heaviest child, now weighs 80 kg, still above the norm but no longer posing a threat to her life.
However, Jessica’s journey is far from over, as she will have to continue with diets, exercise, and undergo multiple operations to regain the use of her leg joints and remove excess skin.
