Robert De Niro, known for his many roles as fathers in films, also plays the role flawlessly in real life.
At the age of 79, he became a father once again and now enjoys sharing his experiences. He recently opened up about his fatherhood and candidly shared the joys and difficulties.
On the occasion of his youngest daughter Gia’s first birthday, De Niro expressed his deep joy. In a conversation with producer Jane Rosenthal, he shared the joy Gia brings him and noted that the girl eclipses all other difficulties.
“I’m an 80-year-old father, and it’s beautiful,” De Niro said. “Everything I’m doing or worrying about just disappears when I look at my daughter.”
Although De Niro will turn 81 in August 2024, he is still active in his work and his roles. When asked about retirement and golf, he simply waved his hand and admitted that he would prefer to act in films rather than play golf.
In May 2023, De Niro and his beloved Chen became parents to Gia. In addition to her, the actor has seven more children from previous relationships.
Speaking about fatherhood, De Niro noted that fatherhood doesn’t always get easier with time and praised his girlfriend for her support.
He stressed the importance of teamwork and said: “I am there, I always support my beloved woman. But she does the main work. We often get help, which is also very important.”
As a father in his later years, De Niro continues to find happiness in his growing family and appreciates the surprises and joys each child brings into his life.
