Kevin Costner could not hold back his tears in Cannes, appearing in public with five children from different marriages. The Hollywood star brought the film saga “Horizons” to the film festival, where he acted as a director and also played the main role.
Last Sunday, May 19, the Cannes Film Festival honored Kevin Costner with its presence. The Hollywood star actor came to the event not alone, but with five of his seven children from different wives. For the first time in a long time, photographers were able to capture 69-year-old Costner surrounded by his family. The photo call was attended by his two daughters from his first marriage to Cindy Silva – 40-year-old Annie and 37-year-old Lily, as well as children from his ex-wife Christine Baumgartner – 17-year-old Kaydan, 15-year-old Hayes and 13-year-old Grace. Joe, 36, with Silva, and illegitimate son Liam, 26, with Bridget Rooney, were not at the event.
For their red carpet appearance, Costner and his sons kept to a nearly black tie dress code, wearing smart black tuxedos with bow ties, while his daughters wore off-the-shoulder evening gowns. Kevin brought the film saga “Horizon” to Cannes, consisting of four parts. He not only played the main role there, but also acted as a director. After the premiere of the western, Costner received a 7-minute ovation from the audience and could not hold back his tears.
The film takes place in the American West in the second half of the 19th century and spans 15 years. His heroes are immigrants from the Eastern United States. They have to overcome a difficult path, develop new lands and win the confrontation with the Indians. Kevin, speaking about his film, said that he named his character Hayes Alison after his son. However, Costner did not stop there. He also invited his son to star in the project – Hayes appeared in Horizon in a small but striking role. “He performed very well in this small role. His performance made a big contribution to the picture,” Costner is quoted as saying by Hello!
