Explore the captivating romances of French cinema icon Alain Delon with his most beloved women🌟❤️ Would you like to be one of them??
Yesterday it became known about the death of the sex symbol of an entire era, the conqueror of women’s hearts – 88-year-old theater and film artist Alain Delon. Not only the opposite sex, but also the entire cinema industry fell for his unusually beautiful appearance. Many called him a selfish, mercantile man, while others admired him, claiming that he was a genius.
More than once we will include films with his participation, but today we will still dwell on an episode of Alain’s life, in which we will remember his main muses. For him they were the engine, a kind of elixir of youth and desire for existence in this world. You can read more about each of them below.
Romy Schneider
Calm, diligent and famous throughout Austria (thanks to her filming in films about Empress Sissi), 19-year-old girl Romy Schneider met a man of the opposite character in 1958. He just happened to be 23-year-old Alain Delon, who was just becoming an actor.
Director Pierre Gaspard-Huy offered her a choice of several actors, from whom Romy would independently choose her partner to star in the melodrama “Christine.” And even Jacques Thozha, who was promoted at that time, did not make as strong an impression on her as the little-known Delon – she chose him after looking at the photograph.
“My only trump card was my face. And my inexperience. When they told me that I was the one chosen, I froze in place like a fool,” Alain once said.
Holding a bouquet of red roses, Alain met Schneider at the airport – which was what the producers asked him to do. But there was no spark between the actors at first sight. The Austrian star noted that Alain has a lot of excesses: he is too handsome, too well-groomed, too young… Delon, in turn, was disgusted by her:
“A cloying, stupid girl without a drop of charm. I managed to get such a partner for six weeks of filming!”
Moreover, in the first days of filming, the partners staged a war of words, in which even the filmmakers were afraid to interfere. Everything changed on the day of the party in Brussels – while they were traveling to the event, Delon began to flirt with Schneider.
Soon the first kiss happened. And at the end of filming, the actors got engaged. Romy decided to do this after Alain left her a letter where he confessed his feelings for her.
Even though the actress’s parents called Alain a “French scoundrel” and were against their daughter’s relationship with him, Romy continued to live with her lover in Paris. Those close to Alain saw exceptional benefits in the relationship, no matter how strange it may sound.
So, he began to read the literature recommended by Schneider and participate in conversations at social events – he was even versed in topics of philosophy and theater history.
Delon’s fame ruined the relationship between the artists. He began to appear at home less often and was not as interested in Romi as before. In 1963, while the actress was in America, she saw a photograph in a newspaper of a very familiar man talking to a girl sitting on his lap.
“Alain Delon marries Nathalie Barthelemy,” was the caption accompanying the photo.
Schneider believed that these were just rumors, and her wedding with him would take place. But upon arriving home, Romy saw a bouquet of red roses and a treacherous note on the table:
“I’m leaving with Natalie for Mexico. All the best to you!” Delon and Schneider lived together for five years, after which they kept in touch and starred in joint projects.
There was no explanation for Alain’s unexpected action, but he later wrote in his book:
“We didn’t break up because we didn’t love each other. On the contrary, we loved too much. Romy was and remains the ideal woman for me.”
Even when she died (at 43), Alain did not remain silent and declared to the whole world:
“For your sake, I once learned one phrase in German – “I love you.”
Natalie Barthelemy
The same one for which the actor abandoned Romi. And Natalie is the only woman with whom Delon was officially married. Their acquaintance took place at the New Jimmy’z nightclub – while Barthelemy, throwing her purse on a chair, was rocking out to songs, a stranger watched her.
“Sir, get up, I left my bag here!” she said to the man, who, out of principle, did not want to give her the thing. Then Natalie kicked him and said a couple of affectionate things, not suspecting that it was Delon himself.
He invited this daring person to join him at a jazz concert, and then in a five-star hotel room. Since then they have not parted. By the way, Barthelemy was not at all embarrassed that Alain was then living with Romy Schneider.
Already in 1964, the lovers married, and every year Delon and Barthelemy, according to those around them, became an external copy of each other – like brother and sister.
And they both had an explosive temper: once the actress fired a gun at the door! And the husband just laughed at this and then threw the plate of food at the wall.
A month after the wedding, the couple had a child together – son Anthony. The boy grew up in a complete family for four years, and then Alain left. But he insisted that both Natalie and Anthony keep his last name.
Once in an interview, the actor admitted that he no longer decided to get married for fear of repeating the fate of his parents:
“The same thing happened to her that happened to my parents when I was four years old. Divorce. After that, I was sent to a foster family. We were very happy, our son Anthony was born. But one day we decided to break up.
I said, “I’ll never marry again.” I didn’t want this story to repeat itself and end up like Eddie Barclay and his six wives.
When I met other lovers, like my late Mireille Darc, I said: “You know, Mimi, you should know that I cannot marry you, because I have decided never to marry again.” I thought that she would be the woman who would be with me until the end.”
It is worth noting that in 1962, the actor had a son, Ari Boulogne, from the German singer and model Nico. Only Alain did not recognize his paternity.
Dalida
1973 The successful song Paroles is released, which Alain Delon performed together with the French singer of Italian origin Dalida. After the release of Delon’s memoirs, fans learned that he had more than just a business relationship with her.
Back in the fifties, being little-known artists, they lived together on Jean-Mermoz Street in Paris. As the actor said, he regretted that he had not called Dalida and dissuaded her from suicide, which she committed in the spring of 1987.
Mireille Dark
If Barthelemy was the only one with whom he married, then Mireille is the woman with whom he lived together the longest. They met on an airplane in 1967 – then Delon left Dark his phone number, but she did not call him back.
Only a couple of years later fate reunited them – on the set of the film “Jeff”.
“Where did you go? Why didn’t you get in touch?” he asked Dark. She knew that Delon was busy at that time raising his son, so she did not interfere in the relationship.
But as soon as changes occurred in the actor’s personal life, Mireille did not miss the opportunity to communicate with him on a more serious level.
Although then she had to automatically come to terms with Alen’s demand from the opposite sex. In addition, they agreed not to be obligated to each other.
This is probably the secret of a long and happy relationship between a creative union.
“I am in Paris, in the most beautiful city in the world, with the most beautiful man. Before, I didn’t take love seriously and didn’t want to get attached to anyone. Only next to Alain did I want a home, a family and children,” the actress admitted.
Then the lovers acquired a common house, and Mireille had to rebuild her everyday habits: she no longer needed to cook food – personal chefs did it for her, and cleaning also fell on the shoulders of the service staff.
And Delon, whose education Schneider at one time was involved in, gave a couple of master classes in the field of Dark art. He took her to all sorts of exhibitions, told her about artists and even revealed secrets – how to distinguish an original work from a replica.
Soon the actress revealed her secret, saying that she could not have children due to heart problems. As it turned out, this was precisely what led to the separation of the beloved couple.
Anne Parillaud
At the time of their acquaintance, the actress was 20 years old, and Alain was 45. And he promoted her up the career ladder, starring first in his action film “In the Skin of a Policeman,” and then in the second film, “Indomitable.” But soon Parillaud left Delon herself.
Rosalie Van Bremen
The French star’s next whirlwind romance was with model Rosalie Van Bremen. Love broke out in 1987, when Alain was 52 years old and Rosalie was 21, and lasted ten years. By the way, they met by chance.
In the eighties, the artist developed his musical career, traveling around European cities. And as if on purpose, before filming the program, the backing vocalist lost her voice, which is why they had to look for a replacement. Then they replaced her with the charming Rosalie.
The loving Delon invited her to his home in Paris that same day, and he did not care at all that she was younger than his sons. To be fair, we note that Rosalie was not a devoted fan of Alain’s work, and did not really see him as a partner. Nevertheless, the artist’s charisma took its toll!
Despite the fact that they did not marry, Delon was happy without him, since Van Bremen gave him two heirs: daughter Anushka (1990) and son Alain-Fabien (1994).
Seven years after the birth of her son, Rosalie left Alena, although even before that she had collected the children several times and lived with them separately from the actor. But he managed to bring his family back.
In 2020, daughter Anushka made Delon a grandfather – her son Lino was born.
In 2017, the artist stopped his creative activity, and in 2019 he suffered a stroke, due to which he began to have memory problems. The sex symbol of French cinema spent the last years of his life in his own Soul estate, located 120 kilometers from Paris.
