What a Dacha!! The innovative design, clever use of space, and the unique features make this small area a true miracle. Now look inside and be amazed of the creative interior on 10 squares.
This unusual house, located near the Sainte-Croix River, a tributary of the Mississippi, attracts the attention of passers-by. Imagine that you are walking through the forest and suddenly come across a tiny hut, like something out of a fairy tale – a black wooden house decorated with garlands.
The owner of this forest cabin is Alison from Minnesota, a mother of two children and a real estate agent. Alison’s main home, also located on the banks of the St. Croix River, was built in the 1890s. This small house is used by the family for weekend getaways and also serves as an additional source of income. Those interested can rent it for a couple of days to spend time alone with nature or with a loved one, enjoy the fresh air and take a break from technology.
Such miniature houses are called Tiny House, and this is not only a housing format, but also a way of life. Owners of such houses save on taxes and building materials.
From the outside the house looks very cozy. Its area is slightly less than 10 square meters, but nearby there are two additional rooms with a sauna and toilet.
The river is 700 meters from the house, and the house of Alison and her family is half a kilometer away.
At first, Alison and her husband built this house for themselves – as a small cottage where they could go with their children to fry sausages and marshmallows over a fire. Later, noticing interest in the house from friends, they decided to rent it out and make it a source of income.
The house has two levels, which creates a feeling of spaciousness. On the ground floor there is a living room with a small kitchen, and on the mezzanine there is a double bed.
The house is built of pine, water comes from a well, the toilet is equipped with a septic tank, and electricity comes from solar panels.
The eating area and kitchenette are equipped with everything you need to prepare meals: here you can brew coffee, make sandwiches or something more substantial, as well as wash the dishes.
The kitchen has everything you need for a comfortable stay for days or weeks, including a coffee maker.
It was not by chance that I decided to talk about this house. Perhaps someone will say that this is just a house for tourists in America, but it seems to me that here you can get a lot of ideas for arranging a small space. This may be useful for those who have a summer house or garden plot.
Isn’t it cozy here? On the second level there is a sleeping place. Although the ceilings are low, it is very pleasant to sleep here.
Not only the house itself is cozy, but also the area surrounding it. For example, there is a small outdoor jacuzzi where you can swim even in winter.
The water in this homemade bathtub is heated by wood and a stove, but it will take about two hours to reach the desired temperature.
It is especially pleasant to be here in the evenings.
Nearby is the first auxiliary room – a sauna, where you can wash and warm up on a winter evening. The only thing missing is birch brooms!
And at the end – an inspiring photo. Personally, I would love to spend an evening here with a cup of coffee in my hands… I’m saving this photo for inspiration and hope that someday I’ll be able to do something similar at my dacha.
