A fresh trend has emerged among young women looking to deter unwanted advances from men. They’re embracing “unapproachable makeup” techniques, showcasing bold looks on TikTok under the hashtag #UnapproachableMakeup. With over 91.3 million views, this trend has quickly gained traction, with women proudly flaunting their fierce makeup styles as a clever strategy to ward off unwanted male attention. Tired of dealing with unwelcome advances, young women are turning to the viral #UnapproachableMakeup trend for a solution.

This involves creating bold and striking makeup looks aimed at dissuading men with unwanted intentions. Megi Hebeja, a 22-year-old fashion influencer from Philadelphia, attests to the effectiveness of this approach, noting that it’s quick and efficient, taking just about 10 minutes.

Pop singer and trendsetter Hila Baksay started the trend, but UK-based makeup artist Brooke Ellis—known on TikTok as @brookeellismakeup—brought it even more traction. Ellis set the trend in motion with an engrossing film that featured dramatic lashes, intensely smokey eyes, well-defined lips and cheekbones, and enticing waves in her hair.

Other TikTok creators who showcased their interpretations of the bold appearance, such as Gabrielle (@gabxxrielle), also added to the trend. Megi Hebeja offered her interpretation of the “unapproachable” cosmetics appearance as a defensive tactic in a video post that also expressed her viewpoint on the beauty hack.

Once again, makeup’s ability to drastically change looks is demonstrated by examples like the skill of a makeup artist in hiding a bride’s pimples, which made her nearly unrecognizable.
