Do you think this is correct? The children of this extraordinary family do not attend traditional school. Instead, they learn through hands-on experiences in nature. You will be shocked when you see how they live in the forest.
There is a lot of controversy surrounding homeschooling. But while some are arguing, others are actively implementing this system. For example, Amy and Steve Sale, who have four children, decided that traditional school was too overwhelming for them.
The eldest son graduated from a regular educational institution, but daughter Ebony had to be homeschooled at the age of 13.
The decision was not easy for the family, because social pressure was quite strong due to the fact that everyone around did not perceive this form of education as high-quality and acceptable.
But Amy began to actively look for a way to make the family’s life easier. And I found a group on social networks where experienced parents shared the principles of “natural learning”, in which the child himself chooses what he will study, and the process takes place not at home, but in nature.
Ebony was the first to appreciate such an innovative technique. At regular school she was very quiet, withdrawn and unsure of herself. And having started “natural learning” she changed beyond recognition and turned into a very sociable child.
Following Ebony, their two younger sons were also taken away from regular school. And soon the family left the USA for Australia, where they began to live in a motor home, exploring all the states of the new country.
In addition to the fact that everyone was able to get acquainted with the local flora and fauna, the parents enjoyed doing math with their children, calculating fuel and discussing family budget issues, and also taught their children how to choose safe places for swimming, how to fish, and how to deepen their knowledge of geography. Amy and Steve are confident that such learning is much more effective and useful than sitting in a classroom at a desk.
