The where, the how, and the financial ramifications of cohabitation are often important factors for many young couples. It might be difficult to find a workable solution when money is tight.
A young couple in the UK, Charlie McVicar, 26, and Luke Walker, 27, came up with a creative solution. After Charlie’s father left them a tiny piece of land, they decided not to build a house but to convert a double-decker British bus.
After spending $3,000 on the bus, they started an incredible transformation that resulted in an opulent living area with a kitchen, bathroom, and spaces for work and leisure. Their choice satiated their passion for travel in addition to offering them cozy lodging.
The conversion procedure wasn’t without difficulties, though. Despite their lack of previous expertise, Charlie and Luke accepted the task at hand.
They started by giving the bus inside a thorough cleaning before organizing and implementing the design with great care. The outcome was remarkable.
The ground level was cleverly designed to serve as an office, kitchen, bathroom, and living area. Climbing to the first level, there was a comfortable bedroom with a bathtub, a clothes closet, and a stove-fireplace. Surprisingly, the bus-turned-home also has two heating systems, so it’s comfortable all year round.
Charlie and Luke’s unique home, which they built for a total of $24,000, is a monument to their inventiveness and tenacity and shows that, with enough thought and work, unusual living arrangements can be both comfortable and exciting.
