Recently, a family fulfilled their lifelong dream of owning their apartment. When they moved there, they saw how much the place needed to be renovated, with the kitchen looking particularly dingy. Peeling paint graced the walls, an odd radiator stuck out from under the window, and the uneven floor was covered in a long-neglected carpet.
My spouse and I made the decision not to hire an interior designer; instead, they began the renovations and came up with the design for their home.
Two months later, there was a big shift in the kitchen.
We began by leveling the floor, as tiles needed to be placed on top of it. Then it was the walls’ turn, and the door frame decided to install a new one in their place.
An ornate grille protected the radiator. After the renovations were finished, we installed a suspended ceiling.
The kitchen appeared to be very light and visually larger because of the white walls.
