Not very long ago, a little girl named Alba had to overcome great obstacles in her early years. Her birth mother abandoned her, and she was born with Down syndrome. Her future seemed unknown despite being turned down by twenty possible adoptive families, but then Luca Trapanese entered her life and changed their destiny forever.
Luca felt empty after ending a significant relationship, and he thought being a father would satisfy it. Luca was determined to become a parent despite the social obstacles he faced as a single homosexual man in Italy, where it is illegal for same-sex couples to adopt jointly and surrogacy is forbidden. He was open to the idea of adopting Alba or any other child who needed special care.
Their meeting seemed fated. Because of Alba’s infirmity, several families rejected her when Luca found her. They became a family when Luca decided to adopt her in July 2017, a choice that changed his life. Ever since an unbreakable friendship has developed between Luca and Alba. Luca had always dreamed of becoming a parent and had cherished every part of it with Alba. He openly describes himself as a single parent who is incredibly committed to his kid and frequently posts glimpses of their happy times on social media.
Alba and Luca have a life filled with love and pleasure at the age of seven. Luca values being a parent above all else and considers it to be his most important position.
They spend their days dancing and singing together, and Luca takes great delight in marking each of Alba’s accomplishments.
He genuinely understands the importance of these accomplishments for kids with Down syndrome, and he is determined to help Alba overcome any obstacles.
Luca is committed to dispelling myths about society and fighting for Alba’s rights, regardless of her disabilities. He believes that all children, including those with impairments, have great skills and wants Alba to be acknowledged for her specific talents and abilities.
Luca wrote a book called “We Will Amaze You With Special Flaws” to change people’s perspectives about impairments and emphasize their strengths rather than their limitations.
Luca gives words of wisdom to would-be adoptive parents, stressing the many benefits of adoption and the significance of fully embracing motherhood.
Today, Alba thrives in a loving and opportunity-filled environment, engaging in a wide range of activities and living life to the fullest.
Alba was born with Down syndrome, but this does not make her less of a person; rather, it makes her more resilient and distinctive.
