John Tinniswood claims to feel as young as 80 years old and is still socially engaged, energetic, and full of appreciation for life despite his elderly age.Tinniswood was born in 1912, the year of the Titanic disaster, and he has had the honor of seeing the Queen twice in his life. He is currently a resident of a Southport, UK, care home, and he credits his long life to his fondness for fish and chips.

“My favorite food has always been fish and chips. It has always been a true delight in my life. I’ve been able to stay young; I feel the same today as I did when I was eighty. Tinniswood stated, “Not much has changed.
Tinniswood was serving in the Royal Mail during World War II when he attended a dance in Liverpool and met Blodwen, his future wife. They were married for 44 years when she passed away in 1986, leaving their 81-year-old daughter Susan alone.

Tinniswood credits his love of football, especially the Liverpool club, and his quest for continual study with his youthful intellect and vivid recall. “Remaining engaged is essential.

I’ve always loved football, and when I was younger, I camped all over the country with other football aficionados as a member of the Liverpool Ramblers Association.

I still do things here the way I would if I were still living freely, even if the association may not be around and camping vacations are no longer an option, Tinniswood said.In addition, he imparted some mental health advice, saying, “Never go to bed without learning something new each day.”
