The cruel ruler of medieval Britain is most often remembered in connection with the large number of marriages – the king had six wives in total, of which he divorced two, and executed two on charges of treason. The new film based on Elizabeth Freemantle’s novel “The Queen’s Gambit” will tell about the last of them – Katherine Parr, whose role was played by Alicia Vikander.
For the role of Jude, he had to seriously age with the help of an impressive gray beard, but in fact the actor is almost the same age as the monarch: Henry VIII died at 55, and Lowe is now 51 years old.
Of course, it is interesting how the recognized handsome man will play the monarch in his last years, when he was seriously suffering from obesity and gangrene.
