10 years ago, when Ukrainian Valentina Podverbnaya from Chernigov was 65 years old, she gave birth to her first child. Then it was a real sensation that excited not only Ukraine, but also all the CIS countries. But as it happens, this story gradually began to subside, but there are still people who are still interested in the life of the elderly mother and her daughter, especially since the old woman attracts the attention of many with her inappropriate behavior.
Valentina had two marriages throughout her life, but this did not give her children. She was afraid to remain alone in her old age, so she decided to radically correct this situation. She found out all the information about the fertility clinic, prices for IVF and began to collect the required amount.
For 7 years Valentina ate only potatoes and bread. After my main job, I worked part-time, selling all sorts of trinkets near the bus stop. In the end, she managed to collect the required amount, and she went to the clinic. First, doctors prescribed her treatment with hormones, and then made three attempts at artificial insemination.
The third attempt was successful and at the end of February 2011 the woman gave birth to a healthy baby who weighed just over three kilograms. Subverbnaya underwent a cesarean section. Valentina named her daughter Anna-Maria.
The family was helped by volunteers who said that the elderly mother’s cluttered apartment did not even have the necessary furniture for the child. Podverbnaya did not allow the pediatrician to examine the baby, did not feed her special formulas and did not buy diapers. She walked with the child for several hours, regardless of the weather. When it came to sending her daughter to kindergarten, Valentina did not do it. The girl also wore clothes that were inappropriate for the weather and season. Until now, Anna Maria’s mother forbids her to communicate with her peers, as they can teach her bad things.
Social service workers for guardianship have already visited Podverbnaya several times with checks, even made an attempt to deprive her of parental rights, but they never found any particularly compelling reasons for this. Neighbors talked about Valentina’s vulgar behavior, but at the same time they did not doubt her love for her daughter. For some time, the woman was suspected of begging, to which she involved her daughter, but this could not be confirmed. Periodically, the family is helped with repairs and new furniture. The unusual family is being monitored by social services and city authorities.
The girl went to school on time. At first, the teachers were afraid for the girl in terms of social adaptation and academic performance, but she was quickly able to get used to it and performed well in her studies. At first Podverbnaya wanted to be in the classroom next to her daughter during lessons, but the teachers managed to dissuade her from this.
The woman shared in an interview that her dream is to have her own dacha, where she can plant an apple tree for her daughter, and also dreams of a man who will help her raise Anna-Maria.
