Shelley Wall discovered she was three months pregnant when she found out her unborn child had hydrocephalus, an accumulation of fluid in the brain, and spina bifida, a rare genetic defect.
Doctors told Shelley and Rob that their son was either unlikely to survive or would be born with severe physical and mental problems due to the child’s severe health. The couple was also informed by the doctors that the child will have a large hole in his spine.
Five periods Although Shelley was given the option to end the pregnancy, the family chose to retain the child. They went over every challenge she might face.
