About 10,000 people visit the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin every day. However, for most of them it is just another city attraction.
Few people think about what terrible events the monument is intended to remind of.
Hundreds of tourists take stupid selfies here, and cyclists and skaters often perform acrobatic tricks right on the concrete slabs of the monument! To show how blasphemous this is, Israeli artist Shahak Safira found ridiculous photographs near the memorial on social networks and transferred their heroes to a historical background.
Now selfies don’t seem so fun…
