Paula Eden lived in a small mobile home in the country while taking a course on organic farming and sustainable living. She decided to fulfill her ambition of buying a tiny house after finishing her education. Paula created a comfortable 13 m2 home with thoughtful design and arrangement where everything is easily accessible. Paula drew inspiration for her own house from the distinctive red color of the typical Swedish cottage. She adopted a sustainable lifestyle by avoiding plastic and aluminum and making great use of natural and repurposed materials.
Paula recruited the assistance of her father, a master woodworker, and other people with expertise in making tiny houses using the frame of an old trailer.
The completed home honors Paula’s dedication to living in harmony with the environment and is nestled among the lakes and forests of the Småland area.
After finishing the main building, Paula focused on decorating and chose to use linen paint and traditional Swedish wallpaper in an earthy green color scheme. Essential interior features include a table, chairs, and seating space.
Living off the grid, Paula gets her drinking water from a local farm, gathers rainwater for washing, and uses a wood burner for both cooking and heating.
The tiny architecture is optimized with a small sleeping loft and additional storage space under the ceiling, as well as light and gadget charging capabilities provided by solar panels.
Paula’s inventiveness and her distinctive mobile house are impressive.
