The magic of change: The stunning result of renovating an antique kitchen for our beloved grandmother

Getting rid of an ancient kitchen has become a real art of pleasure. The grandchildren decided to give their grandmother joy by replacing the old kitchen with a completely new one. However, their preference for modern design resulted in a kitchen that was too modern for her tastes.

The old kitchen units were replaced by modern drawers and shelves, while the old compact refrigerator and modest sink remained in place. Outdated wallpaper, which has long lost its original appeal, has also undergone changes.

Even the dining place seemed atavistic, among all this furniture, as if it had survived the Soviet era.

After the rethink, the appearance of our kitchen has undergone revolutionary changes. We breathed new life into it using white and black colors combined with the natural warmth of wood. The upper cabinets, beautifully designed in white, contrasted with the elegant black lower cabinets, giving the space a stylish and contemporary look. The wooden table fit into this setting as if part of a single composition, and the white tiles, recreating the atmosphere of brickwork, harmoniously complemented the overall design. We used stylish dark appliances and a sink to add accents and contrast.

In terms of practicality, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need: refrigerator, microwave, built-in oven and induction hob. The room literally radiated bright light thanks to the beautiful chandelier and cleverly designed lighting.

The dining area stood out with its sophisticated ambience. A snow-white round table, equipped with a pair of chairs and stools, fit perfectly into the design concept. It was decided to preserve the wall next to the table in its pristine beauty, decorating it with wallpaper, adding two picturesque paintings that gave this corner a special charm. And the floor was executed with special care, decorated with gray tiles, giving the overall interior completeness and durability.

While the new kitchen might have seemed too modern for the older generation, the dark shades might have been too formal for grandma. Perhaps she would prefer more neutral subtleties, such as soft beige. However, the impression from this interior is striking in its elegance and style.
