We bought an apartment with a “killed” kitchen with an area of 4.5 m². At the time of the photo, the communication pipes had already been changed and the old flooring had been removed.
What the space looked like
When the renovation began, there was a wall between the bathroom and the kitchen. As you can see in the photo, a fragment of decoration from Soviet times has been preserved on the wall. Such sinks were popular in the USSR. And for drying dishes there were metal grates hanging on the wall. As you can see, the last renovation was done back in the 70s.
Although the finishing materials have served to this day, this is, of course, a sign of quality. Modern decoration and plumbing are unlikely to last that long.
We haven’t seen a mixer like this for a very long time. It looked ridiculous on the wall – this flaw was immediately corrected. The heating radiators also looked ridiculous. One section was located at the level of the kitchen work area.
How did it happen?
When the renovation was done, the kitchen was transformed. The result is a compact, functional room. We tried to think through all the details, including lighting. The furniture and wall decoration look harmonious.
In the small kitchen we managed to place not only a compact gas stove, but also a water heater and a dishwasher. A refrigerator was placed near the entrance. There is also room left for cooking. It was possible to place food and dishes thanks to well-chosen cabinets.
In such a room it will be pleasant to cook and welcome guests. Everything is at hand, and we haven’t forgotten about the correct location of the work triangle – refrigerator, sink and stove.
It was even possible to allocate a separate area for preparing drinks: coffee and tea. Everything is in its place. The owner was pleased with her new kitchen!
