Preserving History: Restoring a Queen Anne Style Residence to Its Former Glory

Step back in time as we embark on a journey to preserve history by restoring a Queen Anne-style residence to its former glory. Witness the grandeur of the past come alive once more!

Before

Our residence, a Queen_Anne_style_house_constructed in the 1890s, underwent a transformation in the 1960s when it was covered with vinyl siding. Our goal was to restore it to its original_architectural appearance.

Upon removing all the vinyl_siding, we were pleasantly surprised to discover that the original_clapboard, gables, and fish_scale_shingles were all in excellent condition despite the house’s age. Additionally, we uncovered a window that had been concealed by the siding.

After

In an effort to save costs, we conducted extensive research on suitable colors for the house ourselves instead of hiring a color_specialist. Furthermore, we opted to competitively_bid on materials such as stone, brick, painting services, and landscaping.

What we cherish most about our home is its rich history. It was once the residence of D.F. Bedient, who owned the local hardware store in the 1890s. His name remained associated with the store until 1998. Our objective was to revive this beautiful_home, honor its original_architectural heritage, and enhance its appeal to the neighborhood and town. We hope that our efforts would_make_the_Bedients_proud.
