Before
Seeking to enhance the curb appeal and utility of my 1995 Colonial home, I embarked on a project to add a charming farm porch to the front facade. Taking on the construction myself, with the exception of the brick piers, I carefully selected premium materials to ensure durability and visual appeal.
After
The porch features Azek porch flooring and Azek trim, chosen for their low maintenance and timeless aesthetic. To complement the existing architecture, I opted for a combination of HardiePlank fiber cement siding above the roofline and cedar clapboards below, blending modern durability with rustic charm.
For the ceiling, I selected tongue and groove cedar, providing warmth and character to the space. Finished with Australian Timber Oil, the cedar ceiling adds a touch of natural beauty while offering protection against the elements.
This farm porch marks the first phase of a comprehensive series of improvements aimed at transforming my home into a welcoming and stylish retreat.
