Before

Dating back to before 1840, this historic cabin holds a special place in the heart of its owners and the local community. Designated as a Pioneer House by the county historical society, it has weathered the passage of time and changed hands only three times, with the current owners being the fortunate third family to steward its legacy.

After

Upon acquiring the property in 2007, the owners embarked on a mission to rescue the cabin from its state of disrepair. Initially believed to contain only a portion of log construction, the revelation that the entire structure was crafted from logs came as a surprise during the restoration process. Despite facing years of neglect and abandonment, the owners felt a deep sense of responsibility to preserve this piece of history.

With meticulous care and dedication, the restoration journey unfolded over several years, culminating in the cabin’s completion in March 2016. While maintaining its authentic character and charm, the cabin now stands as a testament to the resilience of pioneer craftsmanship and the enduring spirit of preservation. With landscaping and the addition of a front porch, the cabin embodies a timeless elegance that pays homage to its storied past.
