Jeff and Jennifer_Kuryluk, seeking a larger home with character for their growing_family, faced the daunting task of finding a suitable property in Fairfield, Connecticut. Faced with steep prices for outdated homes in the area, they decided to embark on a gut renovation of an older fixer-upper.
Before

With their son, Aiden, and daughter, Mia, on the way, the Kuryluks sold their two-bedroom house and rented another, allowing them time to search for their ideal project. Eventually, they stumbled upon a 1953_Cape_Cod with immense potential, despite needing extensive renovations.
After

The1,400-square-foot_house, featuring a dated pine kitchen and cramped layout, required a complete overhaul. Jeff, drawing on his carpentry background, began by raising the roof_to_increase_ceiling_height_from 6 to 9 feet, creating space for four bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs. This transformation also allowed for the conversion of crawl_space_into_livable_area and the installation of larger windows for ample natural light.
Additionally, Jeff cleverly expanded the layout by adding a 102-square-foot bumpout over the garage_passageway, providing room for a walk-in master_closet. Through meticulous planning and craftsmanship, the Kuryluks turned their dated fixer-upper into a comfortable and spacious family home, perfectly suited to their needs.
