The designers created an incredibly gentle and cozy interior for the customer’s mother. The implementation of the project was kept secret from her.
Briefly
The customer purchased this apartment in a panel house built in 2003 for her mother and invited designers Nina Abaseeva and Sergei Shchepovalin to turn the “killed” one-room apartment into a stylish and cozy home for one person. On the modest square footage it was necessary to accommodate not only a sleeping area, but also a dressing room and a work desk.

Details
The redevelopment was quite minor – the toilet was combined with the bathroom. The washing machine was removed behind the bathroom door. A dressing room was separated in the hallway using sliding doors with mirrored facades.
“The customer wanted to keep the purchase of the apartment and the renovation a secret from her mother, so we did not have the opportunity to discuss the preferences of the future owner personally, but were based on the daughter’s stories. The customer described several scenarios for her mother’s pastime and talked about her favorite flowers. Mom has problems with joints, so instead of a sofa they placed an ottoman bed with an orthopedic mattress,” says Nina Abaseeva. “The new apartment delighted my mother; we guessed all her preferences: textures, colors, shapes, interior details.”

The kitchen set included a microwave, built-in refrigerator, 45 cm PMM, two-burner stove, and oven. The kitchen was made to order. The ventilation duct was covered with a shallow display case, which is part of the kitchen with lighting.

The bathroom used marble tiles on the floor and walls. Accents were added using textured tiles in the bathroom area and colored furniture. It turned out laconic and very stylish.
