Before and after: how the old renovation was refreshed for a little money.

Without redevelopment and in a short time.

Designer updated a one-room apartment with an area of 29 square meters. m and created a light and cozy interior with a reasonable minimum of furniture and the ability to transform as needed. At the same time, the budget was very small, and the deadlines were tight – two months.

Kitchen before renovation:

The room is elongated, a bit cramped, and there is no way to organize a comfortable dining space. The pipes are located at different ends of the kitchen – at the window and at the entrance. The wall with the doorway is sloping.

Kitchen after renovation:

The walls were cleared of the old finish, everything was painted white – now the pipes and protruding elements are not noticeable. The room was filled with light and even began to seem larger.

The kitchen is assembled from standard Leroy Merlin modules. Appliances include a free-standing refrigerator, a two-burner gas hob, and a 45 cm wide dishwasher. There are drawers and hinged cabinets for storage.

The designer provided the opportunity to add upper cabinets or shelves from the same manufacturer, as well as hang a hood and add the necessary household appliances. To do this, we installed additional sockets, an outlet for the hood (hidden behind the wallpaper), and made mounting brackets for hanging the upper kitchen modules.

Living room before renovation:

There is a niche in the room in which the wardrobe was located – because of this, organizing a sleeping place here was problematic. Accordingly, the bed stood against the other wall and cluttered up the space. The previous owner left behind a blocked and already legalized second window in the room – this area was not used in any way.

Living room after renovation:

The niche was emptied and a spacious and comfortable sleeping place was arranged in it. We brought light to the center of this zone. The opening direction of the door was changed so that it blocked access to the bed.

A seating area was set up by the window. Where there was a second window, they deepened the niche and made shelves for books and decor. The interior was given coziness with the help of textiles – snow-white tulle curtains were sewn to order without thick curtains on the windows. There are no multi-storey buildings in front of the windows, and there is no need to hide from anyone.

Hallway before renovation:

Above the front door there was a standard mezzanine closet, which was oppressive with its volume. Old doors and an electric meter also did not add comfort.

Hallway after renovation:

The mezzanine was dismantled, and it immediately became more spacious. The doors were ordered to match the color of the white walls so that they would not be conspicuous. Accessories were chosen in contrasting black.
