The result is a budget European interior, where a lot of things are done with your own hands.
Designer remodeled a typical three-room Khrushchev apartment with an area of 54 square meters. m. We wanted to create a bright, airy space, so the first thing we did was demolish the extra walls. All the windows face one side – this also helped to properly plan the situation. The result is a large kitchen-living room with an area of 30 square meters and an isolated bedroom.
Kitchen before renovation:
The kitchen is small – 5.9 sq. m. The passage was originally from the hallway, so it was not possible to increase functionality. It was very cramped and uncomfortable.

Kitchen after renovation:
The room was connected to the living room – to do this, Mosgaz employees cut off the gas pipe. The set was moved to the wall opposite the window, and the window sill was turned into a bar counter. Thanks to the passage and linear layout, the kitchen now looks quite spacious.

Living room before renovation:
The living room was a walk-through room with an entrance to the bedroom and a door to the open balcony. The workplace and closet took up a lot of space and looked bulky.

Living room after renovation:
The space was united, functional areas were separated into different corners of the room. Some of the brick walls were left without plaster and painted, others were made smooth and covered with white paint. The parquet is a traditional Soviet herringbone, only restored. The highlight of the interior is the old beams from the Arkhangelsk region, which now decorate the doorways and walls.

Bedroom before renovation:
The bedroom was narrow, about two meters wide, and the passage around the bed was limited. There was also no space for storage systems.

Bedroom after renovation:
To accommodate a full-sized bed, the interior partition was moved a meter towards the living room. We also allocated a separate dressing room with a door. The interior was decorated in gray tones.

Bathroom before renovation:
The bathroom was combined with a toilet, but there was sorely not enough space. It was impossible to accommodate a washing machine and good storage systems.

Bathroom after renovation:
The bathroom was expanded due to the corridor, now its area is 4.6 square meters. Inside the shower room, a floor-length mirror was installed on one of the walls – a stylish and convenient solution. The washing machine is under the countertop.
