Before and after: how an old building of 81 m² was stylishly transformed.

We replaced the decoration of the apartment, diluted the modern decor with vintage.

A young family will live in this apartment; this is their first home, in which they planned to renovate and raise children in the future. Designer Natalya Vasilyeva helped them create a modern interior using vintage items. The customers wanted a spacious and comfortable kitchen, a living room with a sofa, a TV area and a dining table for entertaining guests. It was also important to decorate the bedroom, and in the nursery – to do only a final renovation without furniture.

Before renovation

The apartment is located in a Stalin building built in 1958. Redevelopment and dismantling of old coatings and finishing were required. We got rid of the long corridor, divided it with partitions for the TV area – now daylight enters the corridor. We provided a convenient storage system in the “wall” in the hallway and bedroom. The kitchen with gas was left within the old layout, and hinged doors were installed to the living room.

After renovation

The kitchen was custom-made: a cabinet for storing drinks and glasses with clear glass, a built-in oven, a built-in dishwasher, many drawers for storing bulk products, household appliances and utensils. The tabletop was made an extension of the window sill – for morning coffee with a view of the trees and the sun.

Canadian wallpaper was used in the bedroom. The stripe creates a relaxed mood and slightly raises the height of the room. All the textiles on the windows are made from the remnants of beautiful and expensive fabrics purchased at a sale in one of the textile studios.
