A young family has furnished a summer house with an emphasis on outdoor space away from prying eyes.
Quick, spontaneous purchases often turn out to be useless – it’s also good if the new thing is accepted back. In the family of Emily and Christian, everything happened exactly the opposite: an impulsive decision to buy a dacha in the Swedish town of Dalare turned out to be pure joy for the guys.
Dalare is a small town in one of the Stockholm archipelagos. Four years ago, Christian visited there for the first time during the celebration of the traditional Swedish Midsommar – the summer solstice. And he returned with the idea of urgently buying a house there for the summer. Which they did immediately.
Before selling, the old owner painted the house inside and out, replaced the windows and left a beautiful roof planted with greenery. What remained was mainly the finishing chores – choosing furniture and decor. And this is like a balm for the soul for designer Emily and owner of a furniture sales business, Christian.
The interior turned out to be cool, northern, and the special grayish tonality of the wood is primarily responsible for this effect. The furniture chosen was Swedish and Danish, modern, but with a retro design – this is very “befitting” of summer houses.
