House in Sweden with an interior that is easy to replicate.

The decorator thoughtfully decorated a small house, using items that would probably be found at flea markets or in grandma’s attic.

Marie Strengielm, a decorator and interior stylist, arrived in the Swedish city of Naka at the request of the owner of this house. The house was put up for sale, although not without regret: the owners had lived in it for more than twenty years. Marie’s goal was to make the house photogenic and more attractive to potential buyers.

Since the decorator is close in spirit to the aesthetics of cozy rustic interiors,  the idea of the final appearance of the decor matured quickly and easily. Moreover, the object was simple: bright, with high ceilings, many windows and a fireplace, bedrooms on the second floor and a kitchen with a living room on the first floor.

The first floor is designed in neutral shades. Marie supported the white walls with simple furniture and classic Wishbone chairs mixed with Viennese ones, with slightly peeling paint. Alternating new and old is a simple technique that always works.

For the bedrooms, Marie chose wallpaper with a laconic “rustic” print in muted shades: they go well with the wooden boards on the floor.

Natural, breathable fabrics with wrinkled textures are what you need for a provincial interior. The decorator complemented the beds with plain linen bedding in shades of gray and blue with the addition of a small portion of red.

Vintage items like old wooden benches and stools, a well-worn chest and a shabby classic chair helped add atmosphere to the atmosphere . Such simple items can be found in any old house, at grandma’s or at the nearest flea market, and you don’t have to spend a lot of money on them.

Clay pots and vases, wicker baskets and hats are decor from the same category: cozy, atmospheric and inexpensive.

Marie likes to use all these techniques in her other works. And as a finishing touch, he usually chooses flowers, often dried. But in this interior I settled on  fresh ones. And at the same time, she advertised a wonderful garden near the house, where in the warm season you can pick an armful of the same flowers and decorate the interior with them every day.
