A house with brick-colored planks is a traditional story for Sweden. Agree, it would become a decoration for any holiday village. And if you look inside, you will fall in love with the decor.
Despite the difficulties, the family made it through. In addition, Vincent is a professional carpenter. The couple started with the renovation of the house’s façade, then rebuilt the heating system before working on the interior. The house remained almost the same layout, the only thing was that the bathroom space was increased. Now a kitchen, a living room and two rooms are enough for a family. However, in the future they plan to add a separate dining room, hallway and screened-in porch.
The interior of the house is in country style. There are a lot of floral prints, wood trim, cozy textiles (tablecloths, carpets, rugs) and, of course, a fireplace that is 150 years old.
The family paid special attention to the interior of the kitchen, because this is where they come most often. Here the olive set goes well with a wooden dining table and chairs. At first, the couple wanted to buy a ready-made set, but due to the small area, they had to assemble custom-made storage systems to save space. Now, when Lisa bakes gingerbread cookies, the whole family can comfortably fit in the kitchen.
In the living room, to make the space even cozier, one wall was covered with wallpaper with a floral print, and the rest were plastered and painted white. Interestingly, the living room collected all the antiques in the house: a 150-year-old fireplace stove, an old brown sideboard and candlesticks that were in the house from the very beginning. And Vincent made the wooden coffee table with his own hands.
Lisa and Vincent’s bedroom is full of creativity. Firstly, the headboard of the bed is made from an old kitchen sofa, and instead of bedside tables there are cabinets from a kitchen unit. Probably taken from the same place as the headboard.
