This house in the suburbs of Australia belongs to interior designer Carol Whiting. During her work, she collected the most fearless ideas and implemented them in the interior of her home.
Carol has always distinguished herself from other designers with a special style: unusual geometric shapes and strange color combinations. Let’s face it, the interior of her home was no exception.

Now the one-story house contains a combined living room-kitchen, two bedrooms, a mini-laundry room, and there is access to a small courtyard. It took Carol and her family a lot of effort to realize their plan. For example, repaint the facade of the house, add a veranda, change the flooring, windows and restore the bathroom, which was completely destroyed.

The interior of the house turned out to be soft and warm. Here, a muted palette (shades of white, beige and olive) is combined with organic textures (wood in walls, floors, furniture) and the home owner’s favorite decor.

I love Scandinavian and Japanese aesthetics, so there’s a lot of white and wood in the interior. I love quiet spaces that don’t “yell” at you.
The living room is perhaps the most unusual space in the house. Firstly, you rarely see a sofa window. Secondly, the living room was also zoned not according to the usual scenario: two custom-made carpentry boxes serve as the partition. So Carol made the living room square in shape and found space for the laundry room, which she hid just behind the partition. By the way, storage systems are hidden in the partitions.

The kitchen is no less interesting. For example, there are no hanging cabinets at all, and the refrigerator is hidden behind the olive cabinet doors. There is also a lot of wood in the kitchen decoration, even the lamps are made of timber.

In the bedrooms, Carol also followed the general concept of closed storage systems. The main thing here is light, air and comfort. Well, skylights and light colors in the bedroom help with this.

The bathroom is small, but the mirror visually enlarges the space, and the glass partition makes the bathroom also functional.
