How we transformed a one-room apartment from a developer and managed to spend a little money.

Repairs from the developer can be quickly and easily done individually – we’ll tell you how!

Natalya Bochina designed a typical one-room apartment with an area of 38 square meters for rental only with the help of furniture and decor. The designer shared the techniques that helped her create a stylish interior without sacrificing the budget. Take note!

Apron with a twist

We chose the simplest kitchen set (white facades without milling), but complemented it with nice tiles. It is white, so it does not stand out against the background of the furniture, but the design contains colored “strokes” – this makes it more interesting. To save money and avoid trimming, rectangular tiles were placed vertically from the countertop to the edge of the upper cabinets.

Neutral base and color accents

The apartment had a typical renovation from the developer: neutral tiles in the bathroom, light walls, white doors and laminate flooring. To make the interior more cozy and individual, we chose a warm and cheerful color palette with yellow and blue accents.

In order for bright details to look harmonious, they must resonate with each other, and the shades must be repeated. For example, in the kitchen yellow curtains were supported by a chair of the same color. And the pattern on the blue curtain is a bit like the “strokes” on the tiles on the backsplash.

Abundance of textiles

Even the simplest interior can be transformed with textiles. And these are not only curtains, but also tablecloths, napkins, pillows on chairs. All of them are inexpensive, but significantly improve the impression of the environment.

Single color palette

In a small apartment, you shouldn’t divide the space by color. Ideally, there should be elements that are repeated in different functional areas. Natalya Bochina moved the yellow color from the kitchen to the living room and made an accent on the sofa. And I increased the number of blue and cyan tones – they are present in curtains, on the carpet, and plaid.

Another accent was added to the living room – black color in furniture and decor. The interior has become more graphic.

Minimal decor

An interior without decor will always seem uninhabited and cold. Therefore, it is worth providing at least a couple of items: for example, a stylish modern vase, laconic flowers and one or two posters or photos. Minimum costs, but immediately a different look.
