Everything fit! The most comfortable one-room apartment 20 m²

In a small area we designed everything you need for life: a full-fledged kitchen, a comfortable hallway, a cozy living room, a comfortable bathroom with a spacious shower, a functional table and a sleeping place

Briefly

Designer Polina Dadyko furnished this apartment in a Moscow apartment complex for a young, modern student girl. The designer faced a difficult task – on a small area of 20 square meters. m to accommodate all functional areas: sleeping area, dining room, kitchen unit, place for receiving guests, TV area. This was achieved thanks to the competent arrangement of furniture, which was made according to individual drawings to order. The result is a cozy, modern interior for living.

Details

All walls and the ceiling surface were covered with textured relief decorative plaster, which created an incredibly cozy, enveloping atmosphere. Rich contrasting scarlet and emerald colors in furniture charge with energy and give positive emotions at any time of the year, while neutral walls, on the contrary, calm and create a feeling of security. We purchased a series of stylish sockets and switches, combining two colors.

The table visually divides the space into two independent zones – the kitchen and the living room – and makes the elongated shape of the room more regular in geometry. The table and semi-bar stools are made of natural wood and covered with custom Italian paint with a tactile velvet effect.

A kitchen set with multifunctional hanging sections was placed along the entire length of the room. The hood and dishwasher were abandoned in favor of increasing the work surface and additional storage. A two-burner hob was provided, and a built-in microwave was placed under the countertop. An open shelf was integrated into the kitchen set, which completely freed up the work surface. A stylish metal apron made of stainless steel looks like an art object – it made the kitchen unusual and added dynamics.

The room has one significant drawback – a large window, which is located in the same plane as the floor. To hide this imperfection, large mirrors were used with a layout that visually replicates the window itself. The result is a WOW effect that gives additional volume and play of reflections. This decision was supported by large mirror panels on the wall near the table and in the TV area.

Various lighting scenarios (LED lighting, track lights, pendant with remote control) allow you to create any atmosphere suitable for both relaxation and work. Some of the hidden lighting was deliberately directed directly to the ceiling – it emphasizes the geometry of the room and visually makes the ceiling higher.

The large fold-out sofa is equipped with a spacious linen drawer. The filler – highly elastic polyurethane foam – is designed specifically for long-term comfortable sleep.

Thanks to partial redevelopment, the bathroom was able to accommodate a spacious shower, a full-size cabinet with a sink, a washing machine, a mirror with storage and a cabinet in a niche for household chemicals. On the walls there are accent inserts from 70s retro tiles and designer ceramic tiles with an abstract print. The vertical heated towel rail is equipped with convenient hooks, and the folding clothes dryer is hidden in an interesting design.
