The Emmys, Hollywood’s main_TV_series_honor, were presented Thursday night in Los Angeles. There were also some touching moments, such as a memorial to Matthew Perry, the beloved star of the TV series “Friends,” who died in the fall of 2023.
Such a gesture really moved people in attendance at the “serial Oscar,” but the “friends,” or the remaining actors from the television project, were not present.Today the reason for their absence from the ceremony was revealed.
According to Page Six, executive_producers_decided_not to invite_Jennifer_Aniston, Lisa_Kudrow, Courteney_Cox, David_Schwimmer, and Matt_LeBlanc to the Emmys in 2024 because the memory of a close_friend_would be too painful for them.Perry’s death startled them so greatly that the producers were afraid to put them back in the environment of sadness and mourning for Matthew.”I cannot speak for them, but we must all acknowledge that they were family.”It’s probably too soon,” remarked co-executive_producer_Jessie_Collins.
