Why Melania and Donald Trump’s wedding still surprises years later.

The wedding of Melania and Donald Trump undoubtedly cannot but attract attention years later. After all, the wedding of the former US president (at that time only the future) was literally surprising in scale. What can we say, among the guests there were far from ordinary people. But, despite all the canonicity of the event, one detail still raises questions among many Internet users. Details, as always, in the next couple of minutes.

Melania and Donald Trump’s wedding

As you probably know, on April 26, 2004, the future 45th President of the United States heard the cherished “Yes!” from Slovenian Melanja Knavs on her 34th birthday. By the way, Trump himself was already 58 years old at that time. And less than a year later they already had the right to call each other legal husband and wife. So, on January 22, 2005, at the Marine Episcopal Church on Palm Beach Island in Florida, they tied the knot.

It is worth noting that neither the bride nor the groom are members of the Episcopal Church. However, as you might guess, this did not stop them in any way. The wedding of Melania and Donald Trump took place at the man’s estate, Mar-a-Lago. And, importantly, the event was a classic in all respects. Except one. You see, instead of a traditional bouquet of flowers, the bride had… a rosary. But more on that later.

It is important to note that the guests matched the groom. For example, it is worth mentioning Heidi Klum, Shaquille O’Neal, Barbara Waters, Simon Cowell, Katie Couric, Matt Lauer, Kelly Ripa and even Conrad Black. But, of course, the main guests of the celebration were Bill and Hillary Clinton.

Tribute to tradition

The main attention was drawn to the bride. And there is nothing to be surprised about. After all, Melania was not going to be content with little. Even before the wedding, she set an unambiguous condition: the dress should only be the best and most expensive. As a result, Donald had no choice but to fork out for an outfit from the Christian Dior collection.

And, to be honest, the duchesse satin and completely handmade work were clearly worth it. To be more precise, they cost 100 thousand dollars. The best craftsmen of the mentioned brand embroidered the dress with rhinestones and pearls. The sewing itself took 550 hours. As a result, Melania’s outfit weighed 27 kilograms. It’s not for nothing that they say that beauty requires sacrifice. And if the bride had to smile in such heavy attire, then the groom’s wallet had to be pretty empty for this.

However, Melania’s outfit attracted attention thanks to one detail. You see, instead of a traditional wedding bouquet, the bride walked down the altar with a rosary. By the way, roses were woven into them in advance. At first glance, this decision is incredibly surprising. However, it is important to note the fact that this was a tribute to tradition. So, according to custom, the family should give the bride something old on her wedding day. As a result, the rosary became such a thing.
