“I knew it would be harmful for me and for the baby.” Paris Hilton talks about panic attacks that prevented her from giving birth to her children herself.

Paris Hilton said in a new interview with Romper that she was afraid to give birth to children herself due to panic attacks, and therefore used the services of a surrogate mother. This year, she and her husband Carter Reum became parents twice: their son Phoenix was born at the beginning of the year, and their daughter London was recently born .

She said she blamed teenage trauma from what “she went through” at Provo Canyon School in Utah for troubled youth, where she spent a year. Paris previously said that she faced physical, emotional and sexual violence there. She also noted forced gynecological examinations.

“If I’m in a doctor’s office, they give me a shot, whatever, I’ll literally have a panic attack and I won’t be able to breathe,” she said. According to Paris, during pregnancy this can pose a serious danger, including for the child. “I just knew it would be harmful to me and the child growing inside of someone who has so much anxiety.”

In an earlier interview, Paris also admitted that the two greatest fears that haunted her throughout her life were death and childbirth.

After the birth of her children, 41-year-old Paris Hilton was criticized for her decision to use the services of a surrogate mother. She was accused of buying children for herself as dolls, not wanting to go through the difficulties of pregnancy and spoil her figure. Paris recently responded to criticism and stated that she did not give birth herself because she is a public person.
