“I don’t need applause.” Will Smith on popularity.

During the Red Sea International Film Festival, Will Smith discussed his approach toward celebrity.According to the actor, celebrity comes with numerous responsibilities and is accompanied with wonderful experiences.

“Fame is a one-of-a-kind monster.” I have to be quite cautious. You don’t have to be concerned when everyone compliments you. But the more you accept it when people compliment you, the more painful it will be when they criticize you.”

Because of his celebrity, the actor recognized he needed to “clearly know who he is and what he is trying to do in the world.”

“I don’t need other people’s approval to focus on my mission.” I’ve always aspired to do good in the world. I’ve always wanted to make others happy. I’ve always been committed to the fun and inspiration process.”

He also mentioned that he hasn’t yet attained perfection.”I’m working on honing my virtue.” The most important thing that happened was that I was genuinely humbled and encouraged to shine brighter. And that is what the next phase of my life will be about: making your light shine as brightly as possible for as many people as possible.”
