“I knew for a very long time that I didn’t want a child”
Artoise chose to have her tubes tied at just 23 years old. If this choice can surprise, shock, or even arouse controversy: she does not care. The young journalist wants to denounce the taboo on the subject. “Me, it’s been several years since I had a contraception. I first had a pill for several years. But it didn’t suit me. Then I had a IUDbut it didn’t suit me either“, first explains the streamer.
“And I knew for a very long time that I didn’t want a child. I never imagined myself as a mother. Never“, she says. This is why, after several months of reflection, she decided to take the plunge. From now on, Artoise feels freed from the weight of contraception and motherhood. “Today, I would prefer all my life to regret not having had of childrather than regretting having had one”.
“The goal is above all to inform”
Of course, with this choice comes its share of criticism. “You will regret”, “Why you did it…“, she could hear from nurses. “So, yes, it’s a form of radicalism, but I was determined and for me, it wasn’t no more dangerous and no more abrasive than having a IUD in the womb“, argues Artoise.
The journalist and streamer, however, specifies that the purpose of this interview is not to make women feel guilty who have children or who want to have them. “It is mainly to inform for people who have questions or who are curious“.
