34-year-old secretary Christy Scott from Louisiana divorced her husband because of his infidelities. To celebrate the end of her divorce, Christie hosted a photoshoot where she solemnly burned her wedding dress.

Kristy Scott, a 34-year-old secretary from Louisiana, invited a friend to photograph how she first paints her wedding dress, then douses it in gasoline and sets it on fire.

“The end of the divorce was a relief for me,” says Christie. “Finally, it was all over and I could move on! It was hard for me, but I knew I was doing the right thing. I found the idea for this photo shoot, I invited a friend to take the picture. »

“I spied the idea of burning a wedding dress on the Internet,” admits Christie. I liked it6. I couldn’t burn my marriage, but I could burn the dress. »
Along with her wedding dress, Christie burned her bridal bouquet, which she married 16 years earlier.

“The whole procedure took about three hours,” says Christie. When the dress and the bouquet burned, I felt light and free. Certainly, it was an extraordinary relief. »

Christie and her husband met as teenagers. They were married for 16 years, but in August 2020, Christy caught him cheating.

Christy is now in a new relationship. According to her, when she posted a photo shoot online with the dress burning, she was simply overwhelmed with words of support.
