There is a magical love bond between Valeria Navarro and her dog, Harley. He may be invisible, transcending both time and space, but to this beloved pup’s big heart and sharp nose, it all smells.
And a touching video proves it.
Valeria Navarro first met Harley six years ago when he was adopted by her family. For her, it was love at first sight. And the feeling was mutual. From then on, they became inseparable.
“He’s the love of my life,” Ms. Navarro said. “We have such a connection. He is literally the thing I love the most in the world.”
But due to life circumstances, Navarro and Harley were forced to spend time apart.
For the past six months, Valeria Navarro has been living abroad in hopes of finding work ahead of a possible move with Harley. But during this time, he never left his heart. And she never left hers.
When Navarro finally returned home, she decided to surprise Harley at a local park. She sat down on a bench, her back to him, to see if her best friend would recognize her by the smell.
And what happened next left no doubt: All it took was one puff.
“He recognized me! I was so happy. My heart exploded,” Navarro said. “He was so excited. It was amazing.”

For now, Valeria Navarro has decided to put her plans to go abroad with Harley on hold. But upon regaining her loving presence, Navarro reminds herself that this is exactly where she was meant to be.
“We are like kindred spirits,” she says. “When we’re together, we both feel better.”
