Myles and Tanner are best friends, simply inseparable. The boys spent tons of time together at school.
But, being in kindergarten, Myles remembered telling mom Britney Tankersley at bedtime about Twin Day and that he wanted to be paired up with his pal Tanner.
Myles kept insisting that he and his friend really looked alike and that they just had to be twins for the day.
At first, mom Britney was a little put off. She didn’t know exactly who this classmate was. “He kept saying how exactly they looked alike. »
“We both have brown eyes, we both have black hair,”
Britney first spent an hour trying to find Myles’ friend’s mother, then drove to the store near their Alabama home around 9 p.m. She found two nice plaid shirts.
After all her research for a Twin Day outfit, Britney really wanted a photo of her efforts.
She asked Myles’ teacher to take a quick picture of her son and twin for the day.
Myles, who has a cochlear implant, kept insisting that he and his friend Tanner were twins and looked a lot alike, so she couldn’t wait to see them together in their matching outfits.
When the teacher sent the photo to Britney, she was stunned.
“Obviously two very different little ones, but Myles didn’t see that.
Wouldn’t the world be a better place if we could all see it through the eyes of five-year-olds? »
Then she burst into tears.
“I was basically crying because it was so sweet. Of course, I know they don’t look alike at all. But he didn’t see that.
I’m expecting to get a picture of another little white guy with light skin and brown hair, whatever, but I didn’t get it at all. And I said, “It’s the sweetest thing in the whole world.” »
Tankersley shared the photo on his personal Facebook page where it has since gone viral and been shared over 250,000 times.
