Presley Gerber was found in a bedroom at the Santa Monica, California, rehabilitation facility where he died at the age of 27 on Sept. 20, according to newly revealed details surrounding the tragic incident.
Gerber’s body was discovered near the bed inside the room on Sunday night, although it was not actually on the bed. A source close to the investigation reportedly revealed that detail, while the exact position of his body was not disclosed.
The facility, Resolutions Living in Santa Monica, was where the runway model had been staying while receiving treatment. His death has since raised further questions about what happened during his final hours and about the circumstances surrounding his arrival at the facility.
Sources also noted that fentanyl has not emerged in the investigation so far. Emergency 911 audio revealed that Gerber was treated for a suspected overdose after suffering cardiac arrest. However, an official cause of death has not yet been released.
Gerber had entered the rehabilitation facility for treatment during the same weekend he was pronounced dead. He was reportedly under the influence of a substance when he arrived. It was also reported that a doctor had prescribed him ketamine, despite claims that he had experienced a regular problem involving the drug.
In the months before his death, Gerber had reportedly been supported by a 24/7 sober coach who was described as being very present in his life. It remains unclear whether that coach was with him at Resolutions Living when he died.
The son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber had spoken openly in the past about his struggles with substance abuse and mental health. His difficulties had also become public through incidents such as a 2018 DUI, which resulted in him being placed on probation for three years.
Gerber had also tried to use his own experiences to encourage conversations about mental health.
