A girl on the plane tossed her hair over onto my screen, and when I politely asked her to move it, she threw a scandal 😨🤔
This happened during a recent flight. It was a long overnight journey, and I had finally settled comfortably in my seat and started watching a movie. I was tired and just wanted to relax a bit, to escape the hustle and bustle. But, unfortunately, my peace didn’t last long.
Right in front of me sat a girl — beautiful, well-groomed, with thick, long curly hair. At some point, she simply tossed it over the back of her seat… directly onto my screen. Her thick curls blocked almost the entire view. I blinked, thinking maybe it was an accident. I waited a minute or two, expecting her to adjust it. But no. She clearly assumed the entire rear section of the plane belonged to her hairstyle.
I tried to be as polite as possible. I leaned forward and quietly but firmly said:
— Excuse me, could you please move your hair? It’s blocking my screen.
She turned sharply, giving me a look as if I had insulted her for life. And then it started. Loud complaints, her displeasure echoing across the cabin:
— How dare you? These are my hair, and I have every right to wear them however I want!
She added that I was supposedly “staring at her” and “infringing on her freedom of expression.” Passengers began to turn around, and she was on the verge of a full-blown tantrum. She called a flight attendant, complaining as if I were harassing her.
I was stunned. I felt both embarrassed and extremely uncomfortable. I’m a grown, reasonable person who just wanted to watch a movie in peace, but instead, I was trapped in some absurd drama. The flight attendant, apparently not wanting to get involved, simply asked everyone to “respect each other’s comfort.” Naturally, the girl didn’t move her hair. On the contrary — she draped it over my face with even more flair.
At some point, I realized that tolerating it any longer was pointless. And then I did something I honestly didn’t even expect from myself 😢😱. This girl will remember this flight for a long time.
I opened a pack of chewing gum. Calmly, without rushing, I started chewing one piece after another… and carefully, almost imperceptibly, stuck them into her curls.
Little by little, deep inside the hair, so she wouldn’t notice right away. The whole process took about ten minutes. I felt like a secret agent on a mission. No one noticed a thing.
Shortly after that, she got up to use the restroom. When she returned, I saw her expression change from smug to shocked. She had noticed.
She began fiddling with her hair, trying to pull out the gum. Judging by her look, she clearly understood where it had come from.
After that, she never tossed her hair over again. She sat upright for the rest of the flight, her hair neatly pressed against the seatback. Not a single word, complaint, or remark.
