Once, this woman weighed 300 kg at just 31 years old 😢. Because of her extreme weight, she couldn’t conceive or carry a child, so she had no choice but to lose weight 😨. Over five years, she shed nearly 230 kg — and soon after, became the mother of three 😲.
In 2012, Melissa carried the sad title of the world’s heaviest woman. At only 31, her weight was nearing 300 kilograms. She dreamed of becoming a mother — but it felt like she was trapped inside her own body.
Every movement was a struggle. She could barely move her legs and feared the day would come when she wouldn’t walk at all.
In her youth, Melissa never imagined she would become the heaviest woman in the world. She couldn’t even remember a time when she had been slim. Since early childhood, food was her comfort and joy. Her parents indulged her, never considering the consequences of their permissiveness.

By 18, Melissa already weighed 120 kilograms. Still, she didn’t see it as a problem — she remained active, cheerful, surrounded by friends. Men were interested in her, and she felt attractive.
At 22, fate brought her together with Chris. He loved her sincerely, and her weight didn’t bother him. At that time, she already weighed 150 kilograms. They soon married, dreaming of having a big family.

But as years passed, pregnancy never came. Doctors were unanimous: at her weight, she couldn’t get pregnant or carry a baby.
This hit Melissa hard. She realized she could no longer live in that body. After much thought, she decided to undergo surgery — doctors removed part of her stomach.
When Melissa woke from anesthesia, she felt something strange — for the first time in her life, she wasn’t hungry. Her portions shrank drastically; in one meal, she could barely eat 100 milliliters, often leaving food unfinished.

The weight started melting away. In three years, Melissa lost 200 kilograms, and in the next two years — another 30. Altogether, she shed 230 kilograms, reaching a phenomenal 62 kg.
Everything changed. She learned to love herself in a new way. She regained her health and, most importantly — became a mother. Three times over. Her dream had come true.
Her incredible journey inspired many. In her honor, a support project for people with food addiction was created, helping dozens of others overcome their fears and health struggles — and start a new life.
