Once left to decay, this small, forgotten house was on the verge of collapse. Its roof had caved in, wind blew freely through the empty window frames, and the floor was riddled with holes—turning the place into a shadow of what it once was.
An elderly couple had once lived there, but with time, age wore down their ability to maintain the home. Slowly, neglect took over, and their beloved space fell into ruin.
That all changed when Anna Ehrman, a young designer with a passion for restoration, stumbled upon the property. Rather than turning away, she saw beauty hidden beneath the damage—and set out to revive it.
The yard was wildly overgrown, with tangled vines and bushes replacing what used to be a charming garden. The home, built in the 1970s and just 76 square meters in size, sat among crumbling sheds and an aging apple orchard.
Inside was no better. Mold crept along the walls, the furniture was mostly broken or missing, and every step echoed across sagging floors. But Anna wasn’t discouraged. To her, the house was full of promise.
She chose to preserve rather than demolish. Tracking down skilled artisans who used traditional techniques, Anna set to work bringing the home back to life. She painted the exterior a deep, warm yellow that instantly added character and cheer.
The redesigned downstairs now includes a sunny kitchen, a snug living room, a cozy dining nook, and a clean, modern bathroom.
Upstairs, she reimagined two tiny bedrooms, managing to fit comfortable beds and even writing desks without sacrificing space.
One of the standout rooms is the bathroom: though small, it features a vintage cast-iron bathtub, floral curtains, and a repurposed chest of drawers—creating a peaceful, timeless atmosphere.
What was once a crumbling shell is now a cozy, inviting home filled with life and warmth.
